To start off this article let me share to you the town where I came from. I am a native of Bohol particularly in the town of Jagna found in the East side of Bohol and an hour drive from the City of Tagbilaran. Like any other towns in the province, people basic means of living are farming and fishing. There are also few who made the very delicious and famous calamay in which many say is the most delicious among other makers in the province. Young Jagnaanon professionals are scattered not just in the country but all over the globe aiming to alleviate the status of their family.

But, what makes our town extraordinary is that we are currently blessed politically and spiritually. If I may expound. – The GOVERNMENT and The CHURCH are two pillars of every society and in my own opinion, a pillar  cannot stand without the other. They are like the mother and the father in every family.

The Government is the Father of Society – Like a father, the government must see to it that he provides well to his family which is the SOCIETY.

The Church is the Mother – because the Church must see to it that morality, peacefulness, and love must remain in the society.

For a community to stay healthy the two heads of the society, which is the government and the church, must stay balance and act out their responsibility.

Going back to paragraph 2 about how extraordinary my town Jagna is, it is because both heads of the society are functioning well I say this is the reason why our town is extra special. Yes, I have read your mind; you are asking why do I know such things when I seldom go home. Well thank you to social media that keeps me updated of the latest happenings of my hometown and to my friends who never fails to inform me about updates of my hometown and of course this is the topic that me and mama loves to share. So far feedbacks about the Church and the government is increasingly positive. There are seen improvements in my hometown courtesy of our government and the Church have many projects that is not directly spiritually related but soulfully nourishing.

Each time I shared this story to a friend not from my hometown their first reaction is envy, because for them it is hard to find a society where the Church and the Government lives harmoniously especially now that the issue of “Republic Health Law” and “Divorce Bill” is in a red flag and as for me like any other Jagnaanon, I am contiously praying that the peacefulness of my hometown will continue and let my hometown be a role model to every society not just in the province of Bohol or in our country but the entire universe.
