How to Get There

Buses and v-hire are available in going to Tabuelan but are limited. The other option is via Tuburan in which there are more buses. Cebu north road that passes Mandaue, Consolacion, Danao, and Sogod is the route of the bus while v-hire’s route is via the Transcentral highway. (Click Here on How to Go To Tabuelan)

Maravilla Public Beach

The splendor of Maravilla Public Beach in Tabuelan has spread like wildfire last year (2017), thus the reason for more and more people wanting to visit the place. Pitched tent all over the public beach is a typical weekend sight.

Never had I seen such tents 🙂

Drinking, eating, singing and laughing the whole night through is the vibe. It is perfect for a group or family outing. If a quiet laid back beach is what you are after then Maravilla Beach on a weekend is not for you. Visit the place on a weekday (Monday to Friday) except holidays then I can say that you will have a great time. Another option is to stay on private beaches outside Maravilla Public Beach.

Where to Stay

Tabuelan may be miles away from the city but you would not expect a tiny town to have various options for accommodation. There are private resorts with their own white sand beach, but most resorts in Tabuelan are located at Maravilla where they all shared the Maravilla Public White Sand Beach.

Pro Tips

1. If you wanted a quiet space then stay farther from the central public area which is near the barangay hall. Facing the sea go farther left,  farther from Costa Blanca till you see a store and coconut trees. I have seen people pitching tents there and it had actually a good space. You can also go farther right where Metroland Resort is located.

2. On the weekends, there are fewer people from 7:00 am to 10:00 am. People start to arrive before lunch at 11:30 am.

3. Sunday has the most number of people. People who stayed overnight from Saturday and families who are having a day tour on Sunday.

4. When you plan to have a tent then be there by 3:00 pm to start looking for a perfect place then set it up at 5:00 pm some private areas allow you to set it up earlier but asks higher rates compared to the public shoreline.

6. Bring your own food or buy meat and fish at the market for grilling.

7. If you want a hippie tent vibe then pitch your tent in the center of the Public Beach which is near the barangay hall entrance.

8. A bigger store is available farther than Costa Blanca. They sell some dishes, barbeque, grilled fish, tempura, cold drinks, and chips. They have a bathroom and restroom for only 15 pesos.

9. Public bathroom and restroom are also available for minimal amount but the line can grow crazy and there are times that water is limited so be patient or you can swim early in the morning till 9:00 am enough for you to have your photo ops with the bright sea and sky then you will be earlier from everyone else to use the bathroom.

10. To avoid the flock of people in Maravilla either visit during the weekday or stay farther from the crowd. Pitch your tent farther from the center.

11. Rent a room, locked cottage or a set up your tent on a fenced or well-lighted area for safety.

12. Sari-sari store in the area sells the basic needs like ice, cold drinks, soy sauce, vinegar, charcoal/uling, mineral water, soap, and shampoo.
