You can never have a Cebu northwest trip without visiting Tabuelan and experienced its beautiful white sand beaches. Since its summer most people are visiting Tabuelan’s famous beach the Maravilla Public Beach Resort and even with the number of resorts and pension houses around the area it seems not enough to accommodate the flock of people.

Yes, you can set up a tent here but if you wanted an air-conditioned room with own bath and CR then one option is Bethlehem Paradise Resort. We stayed here during our Cebu Northwest Backpacking Trip.

Cottage at the swimming pool

We decided to stay at Maravilla, Tabuelan on our last night during our Northwest road trip to see the beautiful sunset and white sand beach. We walk around Maravillosa Park to look for a place to stay since we did not make any prearrangement for our accommodation but most of the resorts are full and to pitch a tent is not an option.

During our last visit in Maravilla Beach, I have discovered this quiet resort at the far end of the public beach the Metroland Resort. We inquire for an available room, but it took for a while since the caretaker is not around, though her husband and daughter-in-law were there, they cannot confirm for an available room. We waited for a while but our stomach is protesting so we had to find a decent restaurant which is by the way scarce in the area. We are also tired after all the habalhabal ride adventure of the day so we decided to go to the resort that we pass by earlier.

Delicious Food
We arrive at Bethlehem Paradise Resort hungry and tired. While they prepare for our room we ask for the menu and the jolly cook, yes, the local chef of the resort get our order cheerfully and boasted that their food is delicious and it did not disappoint. We have a delicious sumptuous lunch. All the dishes are cook as you order so waiting time is around 15 minutes, during that time you can either check your email or social media but I highly recommend to talk to your companion instead. After the splendid lunch, we went straight to our room to get some rest while we wait for the sunset. The room can manage to fit 4 persons but ideally good for 2 people only. It has 1 double bed, sofa bed for the extra 2 persons, Air-condition, table and 2 chairs.

The bathroom has a shower but not hot and cold, 1 towel, shampoo, and soap. For the nomads – the room has 2 outlets, 1 near the bed and the other under the table but wifi hardly reach the room.

The friendly staff will make your stay at the resort comfortable, plus they actually have great food and mango shake. This place is perfect for those who wanted a quiet getaway and also enjoy the beach at the same time since it is a just a short walk. Since the owner of Bethlehem de Paradise is the same with Yasuda Resort – one of the resorts at the coastline of Maravilla Public Beach then you will have a guaranteed table and chairs at Yasuda Resort. Another beautiful thing about Bethlehem is that it has an uphill garden and a tree that has a perfect view of the sunset.

My personal opinion and recommendation:
1. Lower the rate of the room. Because we can get the same price with the same amenities at a resort in front of Maravilla Beach.
2. Stay inn guest can use the swimming cap for free.
3. At least have 2 towels for the standard room. We are only given 1 towel.
