Saw Nyein San Guest House

My Experience

It is my friend Andrew who did most of the planning for our 9 Days Backpacking Trip in Malaysia, Myanmar, and Singapore. According to him Saw Nyein San Guest House is very prompt in replying his queries.

Our flight from Kuala Lumpur to Yangon was delayed so we were not able to ride our supposed to be 8:00pm bus from Yangon to Bagan. Good thing there are other bus schedules – ours left Yangon at 9:40pm. We are expected by our Guest House Shuttle to arrive 5:00am but we arrive at 7:40am. To our amazement, our shuttle van is still waiting for us at the bus station.  Upon arriving at the Guest House everyone greeted us with a warm welcome and smile. We are allowed to check-in early at 9:00am and while waiting for our room to be ready they offered us their homemade breakfast Chicken Mohinga for free which by the way is very delicious and perfect after a 10 hour bus ride.

Everyone – 3 women owners and the staff in the Saw Nyein San Guest House are very friendly and accommodating.  They gave us tour tips like where to go during Bagan sunset and sunrise that has fewer tourists and with a great view. In the first day we rented a truck for our whole day tour and in the 2nd day they gave us a discount on the E-Bikes we rented for using it only for 4 hours. Our tour driver So Na who is also the brother-in-law of the owners is very kind, polite, and fun to be with. With his little English he managed to teach us how to say some Burmese words like Good Day – Min-ga-la-ba and Thank you – Ce-zu-ba which we found useful in our 5 days in Myanmar.  The good ladies also did not miss in sending us to our Bagan tour and welcoming us back in the Guest House. I remember their concern faces on the second day as we drove the E-Bikes to see more of ancient Bagan and other Bagan temples. They have even sent one of their staff to make sure that we are safe and comfortable driving the E-bikes.

The rooms in Saw Nyein San Guest House are clean and spacious (Amenities are posted below).  Oh! How happy I am seeing the many outlets in the room more than enough for charging all my travel gadgets. Wifi is decent and available in the lounge area and also complimentary tea and sweets (Tamarind Flakes) which I really like. Their breakfast in the rooftop is like no other. You can see them prepare your tea, fruit juice and original Burmese dish which are really tasty.

Never in my travel experience did I receive care (motherly care) like the Saw Nyein San Guest House did which is why I highly recommend them to everyone visiting Bagan, Myanmar. Did I tell you that you don’t have to spend much with the quality of service they offer because their rates are budget friendly. The place is a budget hotel in Bagan.
