Bohol is among the Philippines tourism rich province, from the famous chocolate hills and cutest tarsier to the beautiful white-sand beaches. And if it isn’t enough then visit the new tourist attraction in Bohol – Sikatuna’s Mirror of the World and Botanical Garden.

About Bohol’s Mirror of the World

Sikatuna’s Mirror of the World owner Mr. Jan Yngvar Kolsto and Mrs. Ann Dulogan Kolsto converted this 3.2-hectare farmland into a beautiful park that caters famous statues and structures from around the world mirrored into a scaled-down version that is inspired by the couples travel.

The land started to be a farm but later on, the couple decided to convert it into a park and open it to the public to share and enjoy. This Bohol newest attraction just recently opened last December 2018.

Where is Sikatuna’s Mirror of the World

This lovely botanical garden and park in Bohol is located in barangay Libjo, Sikatuna, Bohol. About 17km from the capital Tagbilaran City and roughly 3km from Poblacion, Sikatuna.

How to Get There: Bohol Mirror of the World

Like any other tourist destination in the Philippines, there are several ways and means to visit Sikatuna’s Mirror of the World.

Public Transport

• From Dao Integrated Bus terminal in Tagbilaran City, ride a bus or a jeep.
• Dao Tagbilaran to Sikatuna proper fare is 20.00 pesos.
• From Sikatuna proper to barangay Libjo (*tell the drive you are going to Mirror of the World) ride a habal-habal and fare is 30.00 pesos. You can ask the driver to wait for you at a minimal amount.

Drive Own Car or Motorcycle

• On your Google maps just input the place where you are starting to Sikatuna’s Mirror of the World and Botanical Garden then follow the map. You can also just input Sikatuna Municipal Hall then from there ask direction from the locals.

Hire a Van with Driver (Guided Tour)

• One of the most convenient ways to go to Mirror of the World in Bohol since all van for-hire drivers are familiar with the place. You can just actually include Sikatuna’s Mirror of the World in your tour package together with other attractions in your Bohol Itinerary.

• Tour van rate in Bohol usually ranges from 3,000 pesos to 4,000 pesos depending on the number of seats. If you would allow me to recommend, I usually contact Kuya Albert for Bohol tour 09098142810. *I don’t get a commission if you call him. He has been our guide for over 3 years now because he is good on the road, kind, friendly, can communicate well and funny. Added security to know that he is a retired police officer.

Sikatuna Mirror of the World opens as early as 7:00 am and closes as late as 9:00 pm.

What to Expect in Mirror of the World Bohol

The 3.2-hectare park in Bohol is currently on its phase 1 development and the management has a plan of a total of 5 phases. Even with phase 1, there are a lot of beautiful things to see and 30 minutes to 1 hour is enough to appreciate the place unless you plan to dine in the restaurant.

What to See in Sikatuna Mirror of the World
Phase 1: Botanical Garden, Koi pond that includes koi feeding for 20.00 pesos, Greek Mythology God statues, Los Angeles Lighthouse, New York Statue of Liberty, Singapore Merlion, Brazil’s Christ the Redeemer, San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge *under construction, Paris Eifel Tower *under construction.

Phase 2 to 5 in the next 2-3 years
Phase 2: Chapel, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel statue, Mt. Rushmore, and Dutch Windmill.
Phase 3: famous Russian palace, Great Wall of China, and Pagoda tower of Japan.
Phase 4: London’s Big Ben, an Ethiopian Tower, Malaysia’s Petronas tower, and Dubai’s Burj Khalifa.
Phase 5: Dedicated to lodging. Norway inspired cabins “sod roof” or “turf roof”. There will be dormitory type rooms and 2 bedroom rooms.
A water park is also expected to be built in the area.

Another similar attraction in Danao City, Cebu shows structure like the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Taj Mahal, and Eiffel Tower.

Dining at Sikatuna Bohol Mirror of the World

On one of the hills inside Sikatuna’s Mirror of the World and Botanical Garden is the restaurant or café that offers cold drinks, snacks, and Filipino meal dishes that ranges from 25 pesos to 180 pesos. The restaurant offers you a bird’s eye view of the whole place.

Pro Tips and Fun fact about Mirror of the World Bohol in Sikatuna

• From Mirror Sikatuna FB Page: Pebbles pattern on the Christ the Redeemer platform is the same pattern that the 4 km long Copacabana beach walkway is covered with. Copacabana is a famous beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
• Bring an umbrella and enough water because it is a park thus an open space. (if you visit at daytime)
• Entrance Fee varied from day and night time.
• The best time to visit is 5:30 pm onwards to enjoy both the day time view as well as the night time view.

Bohol Family Trip in Mirror of the World

Personally, I think that this is a great attraction, especially that not all of us will have the luxury to travel around the world to witness this remarkable statues and structures. Even with just a glimpse of this famous constructions, people will feel that they have seen parts of the world. My family had a great time during our visit.
