Blogging is mostly defined as a chronological online write up. Though the concept of blogging was made known in the year 1994 it was just in the early 2000 that it became very popular. There are many reasons why people blog but the main reason above all is to inform. Blogging before is used as an online journal but now blogs are used for various purpose like criticizing; introduction of a new place or gadget; review for the latest books read, movies watch or music heard; announcement for events and the latest is blogging is a new media platform.

World Bloggers’ Day – The Birth

World Bloggers’ Day was conceptualized in the midday’s of April 2010 between Parkmall Marketing team and Cebu Bloggers’ Society, Inc. representative. The first idea was just to create a blogging event but unexpectedly a World Bloggers’ Day was born.

The very first World Bloggers’ day was held in May 2, 2010 at Parkmall Cebu with participation of local Cebu bloggers and in cooperation with other blogging organizations around the Philippines like Manila Bloggers Network, SOCKSARGEN Bloggers and Davao Bloggers

World Bloggers’ Day vision is to recognize the roles of bloggers in the era of “Digital Media Revolution”.
